Chicago, commonly referred to as the Chicago Kappa League Program, is a 501c3 program operated and funded by the Edward G. Irvin Foundation.  

Who Are We

The Kappa Leadership institute – Chicago is currently ranked as one of the best programs nationally amongst 344 other Kappa Leadership Institutes in the nation.

Our Mission

To provide educational college readiness opportunities for economically disadvantaged and/or underrepresented minority males, primarily, African American high school youth.

Kappa League?

At Kappa Leadership Institute – Chicago, we believe that exposure to a challenging academic and leadership environment along with the development of skills needed to gain admission into and complete academic studies at a rigorous college/university is critical for early career success.  This is particularly true for many disadvantaged minorities and low-income young men who may not have ample resources in their school and home environments.

Education that involves teaching the skills and operations of the business industry. This field of education occurs at multiple levels, including secondary and higher education institutes

Law and the Liberal Arts is an interdisciplinary minor that studies the role of law in society and politics. The goal of the minor is to prepare one to think critically and analytically about the role of law in our lives, using the tools of a well-rounded education in the liberal arts.

STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. … This campaign also addresses the inadequate number of teachers skilled to educate in these subjects
